The port located on Willingdon Island is expanding the Port Trust by building an international container transhipment terminal at Vallarpadam. This will help them to increase the large cargo movement along the international east west sea lane. Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) in Kochi is a large scale fertilizer plant in India which has established itself over the years.
