PostSubject: Hannibal, The Voice of the Middle East and North Africa   Tue May 19, 2009 12:27 am

Professional with 9 years of experience in Fixed Income markets, Hannibal started his career in a major French Banking Group in Bond Origination covering French Corporates. He was then sent to London to assume and to develop commercial relationships with Northern European Corporates and Financial Institutions (UK, Ireland, scandinavia and Benelux). He invaded the northern countries despite the cold, the snow and a very hostile environment. He made his way to success and won the battle for the northern lands. His weapons? Easy. He used a number of Public transactions bullets, private placement arrows, both vanilla and Structured (Credit, Interest Rates, FX, Equity and Hybrids). He became the master of far north.

To feed his conquest appetite, Hannibal had to develop new war strategies. He learned with the best masters and became an expert in very sophisticated products. He became in 2005 a Hybrid Capital Structurer. He structured Hybrid Capital Securities according to balance sheet constraints, equity treatment under IFRS, regulatory barriers and tax issues. In 2007, he naturally moved to CDO team to structure TrupS (Hybrid Capital CDOs). He focused on “Exotic CDOs”, meaning TrupS, CFOs (Fund of hedge funds CDO & Private Equity CDO) and Project Finance CDOs.

Once he made sure the wining of the battle for the northern lands, Hannibal took responsibility for North Africa and Levant Countries distribution for Interest Rates Derivatives and Hybrids. This was the first step for Hannibal to move his army from North to South. After 7 years in London, Hannibal couldn’t resist to calls from the South Lands. He was sent to the other side of the mysterious sea, also known as the Mediterranean, to raise a new army and invade emerging and fast growing markets. He is currently Head of Sales in the Moroccan branch of a major French Banking Group in charge of implementing the Forex, interest rates and derivatives distribution/placement. His best allies: Curves, Volatility, Spread, Skew and others one must not mention loud.
